Giresunport

In 2018, we took over the Giresun Port and rapidly completed our infrastructure and superstructure investments, launching our operations under the motto “Turkey’s First Organic Port.

Today, Giresunport has become one of the most important logistics hubs in the Eastern Black Sea region. With its expanding range of services, it serves not only regional exporters but also creates added value for all players in international trade.

The growth of Giresunport directly contributes to the regional economy. Increasing export capacity drives higher production, stimulates employment, and strengthens local commerce. Rising cargo volumes and vessel traffic generate economic vitality that benefits not only industry and producers but also the local tradespeople and service sectors. We handle and process agricultural products sourced from different regions at our Giresunport facility, and subsequently export them to global markets, primarily including the Americas and Europe.By increasing our handling volume by an average of 50% each year, we reached 800,000 tons within the first seven months of 2025.

Through our newly established shipping line with MSC, one of the world’s largest container transport companies, we provide exporters with a significant competitive advantage. By dispatching containers directly from Giresun — which previously had to be routed through Trabzon or Samsun — we help companies reduce logistics costs and save valuable time. This service has been especially beneficial for exporters of hazelnuts, grains, pulses, feed, construction materials, machinery, and even bentonite-based cat litter. As a result, our container operations have reached approximately 10,000 TEU. In the medium term, our goal is to achieve an annual capacity of 2 million tons of cargo and 50,000 TEU.

Looking ahead, our vision is to continue growing Giresunport with a sustainable and innovative port management approach, further enhancing the region’s and our country’s competitiveness in global trade. With new facility investments, capacity expansions, and a customer-oriented service model, we will keep creating value for both our local and international stakeholders.
