Umm Qasr
At Tiryaki Agro, we strengthen our position across the agricultural supply chain through strategic terminal operations
Our modern terminal in Umm Qasr — Iraq’s only deep-water port located in the country’s south — is one of the best examples of this approach. This strategic investment not only brings long-term value to the Iraqi economy and regional trade but also further enhances Tiryaki Agro’s strength within the international supply chain.
Built from the ground up in collaboration with IFC, a member of the World Bank Group, our terminal is located at Berth No. 4 and became operational in the second quarter of 2024. Thanks to its strategic location, it can directly accommodate vessels of up to 50,000 tons, and we are already investing in floating cranes to handle even larger ships.
Our operations in Umm Qasr provide advantages not only for Iraq but also for neighboring countries across the region. The terminal delivers significant speed and cost efficiency in soybean handling; products processed at the facility — including soybean meal and oil — are easily exported to regional markets. In the coming years, we aim to expand our investments and increase our capacity even further.
